The most underappreciated department in an organization is usually the IT department. They have to deal with us tech inept people all day long. And when things work, no one tells them, "Hey, thank you for making sure that things work." Most of the time, the interactions people have with IT is usually about operational pain point. So, thank you if you work in IT. Btw, there is a great TV show called The IT Crowd from 2006 if you haven't seen it. Most of the time, they usually pick up the phone (where there were phones) and say, "Have you turned it on and off?" It's from a perspective of an IT department in the basement.

Blockading Iranian ports is an act of war and thus a violation of the ceasefire. Striking a commercial vessel and taking its crew hostage is an even greater violation. Iran knows how to neutralize restrictions, how to defend its interests, and how to resist bullying.

Oil: The have and have not. What's the price of crude in North America? Very cheap, as low as 72.7. What's the price in Sri Lanka, well, very expensive. Gas is the same story. So the oil market and pricing depends on geography and that leads to divergence in performance in financial assets.

I found a project that I am personally interested in making a difference for the city that I live in - cleaning that trash heap at Big Wave Bay Beach in Hong Kong. If you have been there, you know what I am talking about and a huge stain for our city and the beautiful landscape of BWB. Exactly. And this is why this US blockade is genius because it means it won't be just the Iranians that will benefit when it's partially open. The pressure cooker is on for everyone equally, especially Iran.

During the Yom Kippur War of 1973, Israel turned the war around (after being complacent in the beginning) when it managed to break behind the enemy's line into Egypt and broke Egypt supply line. Its army was in the dessert and no supply = pressure cooker on and peace was imminent as Sadat started negotiating for peace. Here, the Strait of Hormuz is Iran's financial supply line. Break it, then Iran will come to the table. As in, Iran can blockade the Strait, so can others. Meaning, best that it is open. Meanwhile, long-term I imagine GCC countries will make sure they are like the Saudis and got pipelines.
