Ups and downs are a normal part of politics. What we are currently witnessing in the NDC is a minor issue that can be resolved amicably through dialogue and understanding. In fact, the challenges facing both the APC and ADC are far more than those within the NDC. It is important to note that the ADC is currently facing uncertainty due to internal divisions, with members aligning either with the Nafiu Bala faction or the David Mark faction. On the other hand, the APC is likely to face resistance from many Nigerians because of widespread dissatisfaction with its handling of the country's affairs. As a result, many ordinary Nigerians may choose not to support either the APC or the ADC at the polls. Therefore, dear members of the NDC, do not be discouraged by this temporary setback. It is a minor misunderstanding that will soon be resolved, and the party will emerge stronger and more united. By the grace of Allah, the NDC will emerge victorious in Kano State and across Nigeria. Nigeria is OK now, and by the will of Allah, it will be even more OK come 2027. #OK2027

CONTINUOUS ABDUCTION OF NIGERIAN SCHOOLCHILDREN AND THE COLLAPSE OF SCHOOL SAFETY After congratulating Nigerian children as they celebrate their day today, my heart remains heavy and troubled, knowing that some Nigerian children have remained in captivity for years. It is a shame that days, weeks, months, and even years have passed while our children continue to languish in kidnappers’ dens, with their heartbreaking images still circulating on social media. A nation that cannot protect its children from criminals has little but shame to present to the global community. No parent can bear the shame of being unable to protect his or her children, yet here we are as a nation, moving on while our children continue to suffer in forests and captivity for years. -PO

When I was Muslim, I used to ask Christians: “If Jesus was really God, why did He eat, sleep, and bleed like us?” And honestly, I used to ask it with pride like it was some unbeatable argument. But later I realized something: That question was not exposing Christianity. It was exposing my misunderstanding of what kind of God Jesus claimed to be. Because the real question is not: “Why would God become weak?” The real question is: “What kind of God would willingly step into human suffering at all?” Islam taught me about a God who was distant and untouchable. But Christianity introduced me to a God who stepped into hunger, exhaustion, grief, pain, betrayal, blood, and suffering with us. And suddenly His humanity stopped feeling like weakness to me. It became proof of love. If Jesus ate, it means He came close enough to experience hunger beside us. If He slept, it means He embraced the exhaustion we carry. If He bled, it means He did not stand above suffering watching us from a distance. He entered it Himself. Philippians 2 says Christ emptied Himself and took on flesh. Not because He stopped being God, but because He wanted humanity to finally see what God is actually like. And it turns out God is willing to suffer for the people He loves. That changed everything for me. Because every other religion demanded sacrifice from humanity. Jesus became the sacrifice Himself. And no prophet in history ever claimed that.

This pivotal moment transcends the individual ambitions of Peter Obi; it concerns the essence of our nation and the future of our children. It is about rekindling hope for millions who have faced adversity yet remain committed to Nigeria. Today, our nation finds itself at a crucial juncture, enveloped in uncertainty. Families are anxious about their safety; parents are concerned for their children's futures; and talented youth increasingly question their prospects in their homeland. Businesses are struggling, communities are suffering, and an alarming number of citizens have lost faith in the very concept of governance. Yet, I stand before you filled with optimism and strong faith in the resilience of our people, for I firmly believe that a New Nigeria is possible. UNITY To realise this New Nigeria, we must first mend the foundational elements essential for the success of any nation. Nigeria cannot advance while fragmented by ethnic, religious, regional, or narrow political divides. We may communicate in different languages and practise diverse faiths, but we share a singular destiny under one flag. Our diversity should not be a source of division; rather, it is among our greatest strengths. We should build bridges where others erect barriers, replace mistrust with confidence, division with understanding, and resentment with a collective purpose. A united Nigeria is indispensable. As Will Durant wisely pointed out, "A great civilisation is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within." We must never self-destruct. We must heal, unify, and progress together. INSECURITY In terms of security, the situation in Nigeria has considerably worsened. The global terrorism impact assessments ranked Nigeria as the 8th most affected nation in 2022, 6th in 2024, and 4th in 2026. Yet, for many years, Nigeria garnered global recognition as a reliable contributor to peacekeeping, regional stabilisation, and conflict resolution. Our troops have not only displayed bravery but have also shown professionalism, discipline, resilience, and empathy in the most challenging operational contexts. Our officers and personnel have successfully commanded multiple international forthe ces, safeguarded vulnerable civilian populations, monitored ceasefires, reinstated constitutional order, and contributed to rebuilding efforts. Nigeria became one of the leading contributors of troops from Africa to UN peacekeeping missions and earned widespread admiration for operational effectiveness and leadership in various countries, including Rwanda, Sudan, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali, Western Sahara, Congo, Lebanon, Cambodia, Haiti, and Kuwait. At one pointin a Nigeria, Lt. General Isaac Obiakor (rtd) even led global peacekeeping initiatives. We must address insecurity with resolve and urgency, for no nation can thrive while its citizens live in trepidation. The primary responsibility of the government is to ensure the safeguarding of lives and property.

Roll down your windows so officers can clearly see the interior of the vehicle. 4. Don’t keep your car stereo volume too loud. 5. Don’t keep the vehicle too dark at night; switch on the inner light when necessary. 6. Don’t loiter around the checkpoint unnecessarily. 7. Don’t drop waste or rubbish around the area. 8. Don’t make sudden movements or hide your hands. 9. Don’t argue aggressively with security personnel. 10. Don’t joke about weapons, bombs, or criminal activities. 11. Don’t attempt to bypass the checkpoint. 12. Avoid unnecessary phone use or distractions during security checks. 13. Don’t forget: checkpoints exist for public safety and crime prevention, not punishment. Save, share, or tag someone who needs to know this.
