Patient is comprehensively assessed, examined, and has full set of bloods in December by us. Referral processed >4 months later in April. Rejected as “examination and bloods are too old.” Sent back to GP. “Please see again, reassess and repeat all tests.” MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.
@liambarker And in the middle of this is a person who, no doubt, has been anxiously awaiting their appointment having been referred by their GP.
@liambarker oh my and we know who receives the complaint if major diagnosis delayed. This is awful
@liambarker This is absolutely ridiculous - can you complain to the service? Absolutely obstructive whoever has rejected that.
@liambarker LMC, medical director, demand the GMC number of person directing referral and make clear they are duty bound to reinstate appointment without further referral. Patient encouraged to complain to PALS
@liambarker Simply reject the rejection. No indication for bloods from primary care viewpoint, labs needed for referral done at the time. Your patient and your pathway. If rejected / removed from pathway then pls include your GMC number for media-legal reasons. Bye.
@liambarker As a patient I know the feeling! Had fun at a pre admissions clinic yesterday over issues known about 10 months ago when seen in clinic & put on waiting list. Op canc until seen by consultant. Not sure this is going to end well for me!
