@HowellsMead The code looks right, linkUrl will be undefined because no value is set. If you add a default value or update it with setAttributes then it will be available. This way there are no empty attributes in the block html

@TaronKevin If you also want to deactivate on submenus you can do this: add_filter(     'render_block_core/navigation',     static fn( string $content ): string => str_replace(         'data-wp-on--focusout',         'data-wp-on--focusout--inactive',         $content     ) );

@JiveDig @briancoords Here's where I'm at with custom loops, using the same {template_tag} approach for displaying data. It also accepts an endpoint as a data source, with object keys as available tags. Is this similar to what you had in mind?

@dgwyer Agreed! This is just a proof of concept for now, having a real implementation in core would be ideal. Saving pages is easy enough, perfecting the UI is the hard part. I'd love to see it in the Site Editor with responsive views and draggable, resizable frames.

Experimenting with Figma-like pan and zoom in the WordPress Editor. Currently desktop only, but already a game changer for creating multiple patterns and pages at once. Zooming in is handy for working with more intricate block designs. Coming soon to the Pattern Editor plugin ✨

@briancoords There are some workarounds, such as server-side rendered blocks for PHP-heavy sections, or using filterable 'template tags' for dynamic strings within text blocks, e.g. {year}. Finding a clean solution for custom (non-query) loops remains challenging though.

@briancoords @SethRubenstein @mikemcalister Yeah, it's just one-way at the moment. You'd need to delete the DB copy and then reimport to update from the PHP file. It would be nice to have syncing both ways though so I'll add support for this in the next update

@briancoords @mikemcalister Thanks for sharing @mikemcalister. The Pattern Editor plugin supports the Site Editor UI, it simply exports the pattern to the active themes directory on save_post. If there's other data you need, let me know. It's easy enough to add some metaboxes and get the values on export.

@deviorobert @dcook @aristath DOMDocument::getElementById('core-block-supports-inline-css')→textContent should do the trick. More reliable than regex. There could be other issues with conflicting class names depending on how you're embedding the popup. It might require an iframe or prefixing classes somehow

@deviorobert @dcook @aristath One workaround is to make a wp_remote_get call to each URL and extract the inline CSS from the body using regex or php dom. It can then be cached in a static file and retrieved as needed. The drawback is that it needs to be regenerated whenever posts are created or updated

@deviorobert @dcook It looks like the Style Engine generates `core-block-supports-inline-css` for blocks and elements with dynamic classes, e.g '.wp-container-core-group-layout-1'. Not sure it's possible to retrieve by post ID because of archive pages etc. @aristath might know the answer to this.
