I have a colleague who never shows up to meetings. But we all just pretend like it’s normal 😂😭! We no longer add him to the invite list most times and if we do and he doesn’t show up we don’t bother chasing. The gag is he is so knowledgeable and can’t be dispensed off easily because the day he leaves we are basically screwed, we just get on with it. I am hoping to reach this level of invincibility. No he is not the colour you think he is which makes this even more impressive. Dont try this at your place of work, results may vary.
@lady_amilia That's impressive. I had a similar experience, but he was more rude but professional. he'd ask to send a full agenda and objectives of the meeting or he won't accept.
@lady_amilia I'm not sure what color I'm supposed to think he is. Sounds like he knows his value and he values his time.
@lady_amilia If you’re really good at your job and you make the company a lot of money, you will be forgiven much.
@lady_amilia He is working and prefers to dive into his project and not participate in time consuming meetups. Most of the time endless calls are created by bad bosses who want to show that they also “work”
@lady_amilia Well, if he’s getting his work done, and benefits the company, I don’t see a problem. A lot of staff meetings are notoriously unproductive, a mere waste of time
@lady_amilia This is me😅😂 it works out. I have made it known that unnecessary meetings will not get my attendance. Granted I am pretty old and been running my department for a while.
@lady_amilia It’s only a matter of time until a new manager arrives and decides to throw his weight around leaving everyone else completely screwed. At which point the new manager will skip to a new job leaving the chaos behind.
@lady_amilia If I was pressed for time I used to do stand up meetings. I would ask people not to sit down. The meetings were much quicker. When you see people bring in a cup of coffee and a donut and settle into a chair you know it is going to drag on with meaningless talk
