@richardhutton You need to use the fable or opus model for the planning/orchestrator type, and for implementation, use a fast, efficient model for the expensive write tokens. This can go very far.

The better an engineer you are the less 'smart' a model you need. Best engineers I talk to value speed. Sure, a smarter model can one-shot cool stuff. But if you know exactly what you want, the model just needs to do what you say. You need Opus 4.6-4.8, not Fable.
