I’ll offer an explanation. Kids are asking “what’s the point? Does anyone care about me or what I could contribute to society? Am I getting any benefit from my time in school?” Too often the answer is not compelling.

@krdonnelly But why would they be asking that more now and why would the answers be all that different from before? Teenagers are always a little disaffected.
@krdonnelly Kid driven or parent driven (probably depends on age)? We are getting chronic absenteeism notice at my kid’s elementary school, which I doubt is being lead by the kids not wanting to go school (that’s a normal daily occurrence). Lots of people questioning the current paradigm.
