@Catholicizm1 If you read the encyclical, he quotes st. Paul, calling Protestants (and all heretics) "perverted and self-condemned." The whole encyclical reads as a triumphant condemnation of all the persecutors of the Church. Do not deceive yourself, the Church was very persecuted back then.

@TradCathKeng I had a similar shift, but it happened soon after my baptism. The hermeneutic of continuity had failed for me, and if it weren't for the SSPX, I don't know where I would've ended up. My confessors at the SSPX proceeded to help me so much that it was like a second conversion.

Of course TC isn't going away. The real kicker is Roche's admission that the TLM is now incompatible with Catholicism: "[The Eucharist] is the place where we should all be able to be together...Why is the band still playing a tune that is discordant with the life of the Church?"

@IncredPapist_ We cannot interpret the council against how all of the council fathers interpreted it. You run into the same problem in Dominus Iesus, which states that the Church of Christ sanctifies and saves outside of the Catholic Church, all while trying to interpret subsistit in properly.

@MattGaspers @FrMichaelMary I generally support it. Sedevacantists are Catholics, though I disagree with them, and they certainly need bishops. In fact, necessity would justify thousands of consecrations, as the Catholic faithful need many faithful, traditional bishops. Prudence, however, limits what we do.

@FeelsGuy2003 You will reliably find that those who criticize Vatican I have no backing from the SSPX. Archbishop Lefebvre, always an ultramontanist, could never criticize them for things like the condemnation of Action Francaise or the 1955 reforms. Ratzinger was an old enemy of Tradition.

@Immaculata_City He tried to trick archbishop Lefebvre by lying about the consecrations, and called Gaudium et Spes a "counter-syllabus." @NovusOrdoCope I, and a good number of SSPX supporters don't think that you guys are in schism, and so do many of the priests. Some don't agree, but that is not an official position.

@DecreviD2BC This group left the SSPX for the Indult a while ago. They then became seeds. Don't blame the SSPX, they haven't touched this group for 20 years.

Priests who spend a considerable amount of time on social media violate their priestly dignity and we laity have a duty to point it out. Their social media presence risks damning them and rendering their ministry utterly fruitless. This applies even if they are traditionalists.

@LiberezChrist We'd have to accept both Vatican II AND the post conciliar deviations to have "regular" status. Could you accept Amoris Laetitia, Assisi, or Mater Populi Fidelis? We fight from the inside of the Church.
