@Hindsite20 I found the season irritating and hard to watch. It was a rehash of season 1 with Alex more unlikeable and manwhorish. Cole did some work on himself and had growth, but Jackie just backslid right to Alex. She knew she wanted Cole but decided to screw around with Alex again anyway

@so_caffeinated Agreed. I couldn't deal with it around the 2016 election. I learned a lot of people I thought were decent people were in fact not.

@NickKnudsenUS Same. My first time voting, in my mind, Bush and Gore were essentially the same. I was in college and never considered myself uneducated. I remember later wondering why I didn't know Gore cared about the environment. If I had, I think I wouldn't have thrown my vote away on Nader.

@so_caffeinated @hotcookinmama2 Are they sure they killed the right cougar? I'm not sure whether the spike collars would interfere with their ability to do their jobs. risk catching them on fencing, etc. If you know someone who has used them on a LGD, then I say try it. Or up voltage on electric fencing?

@so_caffeinated Could you do like a cheap netting over the top? We have to worry about lots of flying predators here, so most runs are secure overhead.

@so_caffeinated Yeah, I bet. They are likely to keep coming as long as they have an easy meal. Once you are able to lock them all up or have them enclosed in a secure run, they will probably move on to a new food source. Until then, you are like their fast food restaurant.

@so_caffeinated The state health department will usually do it for free. You would just need to do it fairly quickly or make sure the head is kept refrigerated.

@so_caffeinated Exactly. That is how we are too. We leave the critters alone and they leave us alone. I tell my husband we have a truce in place. Better the enemy you know.

@so_caffeinated I just wonder about it's health if there are any survivors from your neighbor. I know they can only test for rabies after death. They usually have you send in the head for testing.

@so_caffeinated I'm a live and let live kind of person when it comes to nature, but you can't have something that brazen and vicious running around. If it was ballsy enough to go after that much livestock in one sitting, then it is only a matter of time before a person gets in it's path.

@so_caffeinated Geez, it is huge. I feel bad it had to die since it is a threatened species, but it's behavior was clearly off. I wonder if it was being fed, and it got comfortable around people. Murdering a whole herd of goats for fun, not food, is abnormal. Could it have rabies or distemper?

@so_caffeinated Jesus. What a nightmare. It's times like these that I'm glad we don't really have any large predators like bears or cougars here in Indiana, except for an occasional sighting. I wouldn't want my guardian dogs fighting a cougar either. Not sure who would win that fight.

@so_caffeinated Do you have any other broody hens? That would be the best transition for them. If not, make sure they have an artificial heat source like you would have done with other chicks. I hope you get a Patty the Third as well. My Patty was named Peggy and was my favorite chicken.

@so_caffeinated Oh no. Poor Patty. She died as a mother hen would want by protecting her chicks. I hope you have another hen willing to take them under her wing. I suggest chicks/moms be contained to protect them from from predators. The bobcat is likely to keep returning for an easy food source

@rr_edmonds Sounds like they would make terrible neighbors. Anyone wanting to cut down a mature tree has no business purchasing a house in a neighborhood with mature trees. It should be illegal. There are plenty of new neighborhoods for people who don't care about nature.

@so_caffeinated Good call. Colostrum is important. Goat milk is fine for mom but not the kittens. Mom will still need extra nutrient dense food. Expect her to eat way more than normal. I would suggest you weigh the kittens daily. If one is losing weight or not gaining, then supplement with KMR.

@so_caffeinated If you have one available, then I would see if she would accept an extra baby or two. Anytime I have had a litter that large, it has ended up too taxing on mom to keep up with them all, or one or two end up not able to get access to the teat. Mom will need extra protein also.
