I went the Dave Ramsey approach. $900k paid for house, no debt. Retiring at 60 with $5mm in retirement. I wasn't any happier or fulfilled. Sold house. Bought a Storage for cash that had expansion already approved, got loan to expand, and 5 acres of land for next home build. The Storage will be worth 1.7mm after expansion. The house build will net us $500k+ after its held for two years which will fuel my 3rd development. I'm just a regular guy, but you can follow along on my journey.
@coreyandj Dave Ramsey is great for people bad with money and horrible for those great with money
@kent_kincaid @coreyandj I think it's worth pointing out that Dave was a "great with money" guy, until things took a turn and he lost his shirt and almost lost his family. I've been spectacular with money and I've also taken big hits. But being paid up means you can never go broke in the casino 👍
@kent_kincaid I think the overwhelming majority of people are bad or average with money. Dave helped me early on In my life no doubt
@kent_kincaid @coreyandj Nearly everyone is bad with money. And nearly everyone doesn't realize it.
@kent_kincaid @coreyandj Very well said!
@kent_kincaid @coreyandj Perhaps, but keep in mind that you're talking about a 90/10 split 😉
@kent_kincaid @coreyandj that's the best/most succinct way I've heard it put, spot on
