Republicans in Tennessee just voted 66-25 to vacate the entire board of Tennessee State University, a historically Black college that has been underfunded by the state for decades.
@keithboykin Every black student who attends and/or plays sports for any school other than an HBCU in Tennessee should transfer immediately.
@keithboykin @MsDebate How can they do this? 😳 Makes me beyond angry! 🤬 It's time to march, there are more of us then these racist pieces of crap! I'm old & live in Florida but I'd be happy to help organize! 💙😎
@keithboykin @TheShadeRoom y’all should be reporting on this instead of Diddy!
@keithboykin Am I the only one that noticed how effective the system is in eradicating what they believe needs to be removed but has not once used it to remove white supremacy?
@keithboykin TSU gave out to many scholarships which lead to a housing crisis for its students. Hold them accountable for mismanaging their funds.
@keithboykin What is the rationale? How was the board failing in its mandate? No commentary on the substance, including rebutting any assertions of the legislature?
@keithboykin I find it Ironic that they cry about being underfunded, but have increased their scholarships by 250% over the last 4 years.
@keithboykin It's accountability time! They're been screwing the students, two of my sons graduated there and the entire process was so stressful some students quit, during registration. 💁🏽
Louisiana has done the same thing to Southern University funding. Louisiana #Legislative #Democrats ( @LaDemos ) have remained silent. Many of them graduated from Southern. "Federal officials urged Gov. @JohnBelEdwards to address the shortfall through the state's budget process, and suggested that #Louisiana could rectify the inequity over several budget years, without cutting funding to @LSU." “I am continually inspired by all that #HBCU have achieved despite having to punch above their weight," U.S. Education Secretary Miguel @teachCardona said in a statement. "Our HBCUs graduate a huge share of our nation’s Black educators, doctors, engineers, judges and lawyers. ... The #BidenHarris Administration is proud to have made record investments in our HBCUs, but to compete in the 21st century we need state leaders to step up and live up to their legally required obligations to our historically Black land-grant institutions.” #lalege #lagov nola.com/news/education…
@keithboykin @NatHopkinson This is violence. And it will continue until it meets its match or an immovable force. I sent my son to TSU and that school—that community—deserves so much better than the state they're in. And state deserves to be in the condition it's in until they give TSU what it deserves.
