Throughout the New Testament, every single instruction or model of prayer is directed solely to God. There are no examples of Apostles or believers addressing a deceased human in prayer.

@SoCalchrisR @FightofFaith That wasn't a prayer. He was literally standing right in front of Mary talking directly to her. And he didn't actually say "Hail... full of Grace". The more accurate translation of the Greek text is "O favored one" or "highly favored one".

@SoCalchrisR @cryptogenerian @FightofFaith The apostles and the first Christians never taught that Mary was sinless. It's nowhere in scripture. The idea began in the 2nd century and grew and evolved over hundreds of years. It didn't even become official Catholic dogma until the 19th century.
