I went the Dave Ramsey approach. $900k paid for house, no debt. Retiring at 60 with $5mm in retirement. I wasn't any happier or fulfilled. Sold house. Bought a Storage for cash that had expansion already approved, got loan to expand, and 5 acres of land for next home build. The Storage will be worth 1.7mm after expansion. The house build will net us $500k+ after its held for two years which will fuel my 3rd development. I'm just a regular guy, but you can follow along on my journey.
@coreyandj 60, retired, 2 homes paid in full and bored out of my mind. I can only play so much golf…
@jvast747 @coreyandj Consider mentoring. Most of my clients are over age 60 and are doing that, or pickleball, or traveling.
@jvast747 Yeah that seems scary to me too. I think human nature for men is to add value.
@jvast747 @coreyandj if youre bored, go buy some land and build a house
@jvast747 @coreyandj My father taught me that boredom is an Insult to your own intellect. And I haven’t seen anyone else turn an old tire into a flower pot yet. I am sure you can think of something.
@jvast747 @coreyandj Hobbies? It’s time…. For me never enough golf…but I have several other things I enjoy doing… You’ll find them…
@jvast747 @coreyandj Perhaps try to solve a problem in your local community. I’m just a young buck (31 this year) by comparison, but I took some time between jobs and felt a bit lost and purposeless… talked to others and they felt the same. Purpose is power!
@jvast747 @coreyandj This is my fear… fortunately I have a job I can do anywhere I got a phone and internet!
