We've been here before, of course. The usual suspects warn of #Brexit chaos, food shortages etc, but companies find workarounds and these shortages never actually materialise. But hey, they're always just around the corner... 😉

@julianHjessop By definition, a workaround is less efficient, no?
@julianHjessop Give it a few more years and the number of available targets for such scare stories will trend to zero. People, businesses and states adapt as the world changes - always have, always will.
@julianHjessop You mean like the elusive Brexit benefits we’ve been promised to enjoy from day one, or the imminent collapse of the EU following our departure? Brexit has been deliberately implemented in tiny measures so as to hide the real damage. The gammon curtain is still descending!
@julianHjessop We are all living the sunlit uplands.
@julianHjessop @destinyangel5 Oh no, where’s Liz going to get her rhododendrons
Those workarounds are not a victimless crime. They are time consuming and productivity sapping to find and execute. The project I led to have 3 manufacturing sites ready for Brexit phase 1 took hundreds of hours across a team of 40 people. Time and effort we could not afford and we are a global engineering group. Lord only knows what the impact is on smaller suppliers.
@julianHjessop Sad that these people define everything in terms of Brexit, rather than looking for good opportunities to improve the status quo. Like being stuck with the last hairstyle they had when they were 30.
@julianHjessop Maybe like the promised reduction in immigration.
@julianHjessop Work arounds add extra cost. Our work around was to open an EU operation. Jobs, taxes paid, investment, exports lost. Fine for those who don’t have to actually have to do those things but grift on the back of the problems you’ve caused.
