@wafoli I think the @vonrocklaw and @WestPortalSF have an opportunity to collaborate constructively in the week of this tragedy, and I urge them to do so. The simple truth is that we need a safer West Portal for everyone! Safer = more vibrant.

@SFMTA_Muni I fully endorse closing the West Portal intersection to car traffic indefinitely, and the entire intersection needs to be redesigned. This tragedy should never have happened. My heart is with this family and our community. Thank you @LukeBornheimer for speaking up.

Closing the intersections nearest transit hubs (e.g. West Portal, Church/Duboce, 4th/King, 4th/Townsend, Embarcadero/Market, 9th between Irving and Judah, etc.) to car traffic would make our city instantly safer while also helping more people shift trips to public transportation.
