This may be the worst decision of this @PhillyMayor in her short time in office. Mayor Parker just assured herself re-election for another term only 1 year into her first term by taking care of the unions with the arena. She is supposed to take care of the people of Philadelphia, not herself. This hurts Chinatown and the residents in that area of Center City. We will never see the real numbers in tax dollars generated and the real studies. This just moves events from one building to another. Can’t be any real increase in tax dollars generated. Fans will not take public transportation. Get ready for total traffic gridlock on event nights and a dark, empty building at least 220 nights a year. In the end, the city will have to shoulder some of the cost which will be your tax dollars. And #Sixers worked out deal where they won’t pay property taxes. #Disaster
