"Would I Fight in Gaza?" All Jews around the World ask themselves this question. I think most, of any age, immediately think "Yes." Hamas is an existential threat. They have promised repeated Oct 7s. They must be eradicated. BUT then I wonder if I agree with how the War is being waged? Not really. Though it's debatable. First - is the Goal of the War correct? Why are soldiers fighting house-to-house? Building-to-building? Why risk all these youngsters' lives? IMHO, the "stated" goal of the War should be the eradication of Hamas, nothing more. Even if you really want to free the Hostages, you should never say that publicly. Why? Don't let terrorists know how valuable Hostages are. That guarantees the next time, they will take more. Second, because one goal is to free hostages, the fighting method is risky and undesirable. It's a Slow, Grinding War.. very carefully fought over a Long period of time and quite dangerous for the soldiers. Not good. 245+ Israeli soldiers dead and they rescued less than 7 Hostages? Does that make sense? The Alternative is a focused Goal of elimination of Hamas with very heavy bombing and tunnel destruction lasting weeks. Very likely high civilian casualties and hostage deaths. But very few soldier deaths. IMO, preferable. I know there is No perfect choice but the Politicians and top Military have to Decide which way to fight the War. What do you think? Follow me, I will Follow you! A safer way to make your Voice heard than Fighting in Gaza! Don't forget to Re-post.
The problem is the Israeli ethos to which every human life is precious vs the Palestinian ethos in which human life is worthless, "a big zero". Mothers are televised saying they would martyr themselves and their children by murdering Jews "for the cause". They give this as the reason they have so many children. Not to further "the caliphate", not for religious jihad but to know they participated in emptying the Middle East and the world of every Jew. That's it. It's a crusade if hatred not a land war. Israel knows that to Hamas and the radicalized Gazans every hostage is a bargaining chip and/or a human shield. Even the dead hostages are used to torment hostage families and to sadistically violate Jewish burial laws of which they are fully aware. Palestinians know what drives Jews and Jews know what drives Palestinians. So yes, the terrorists and their radicalized Gazan "reservists" must ALL be eradicated period. It didn't matter if Israel said not one word about hostages. History has shown terrorists that the hostages matter because to Israel human life matters. Israel is in the crazy position of protecting everyone for sheer optics of world opinion and nothing else. Meanwhile they are conducting urban warfare, going after Hamas which the general consensus is that they are cornered in Rafah using hostages dead and alive as human shields. Israel in my opinion (since you asked) must ignore the US, the West and UN, eradicate Hamas and "Gazan reservists", rescue the hostages, demilitarize and flatten every square meter of Gaza then give one of the Kibbutz Be'eri survivors his wish as expressed to British author Douglas Murray: Plant potato fields from the Gaza border to the Mediterranean Sea.
@joereal99 We would absolutely not fight in Gaza.
