You don't have to tell me twice. In fact, I like to think I was early: May 3, 2016 (the night Trump won the Indiana primary, thereby clinching the Republican presidential nomination). I had been a Republican since 1983, when I was a sophomore in college.

@jaynordlinger Same time I left. Exact same moment.
@jaynordlinger Proud Reagan Republican here, never voted for Trump and never will. This is not a serious country anymore. Just going to try to survive through my retirement now.
@jaynordlinger Holding on because I don’t believe non party members should be able to vote in a primary but I expect to be in the minority of the party for quite some time. I will be voting for Biden. I am in PA and voted write in last two times.
@jaynordlinger I feel like a pilgrim in a foreign land. In my own country. I have been a Republican since November 1984, when I voted for the first time for Ronald Reagan. I don't know who these people are anymore. So sad and tragic, for me and for this nation.
@jaynordlinger I did the same in California, but just re-registered to vote in the primary, and now may have to unregister before I even get to vote. But not as long as Haley is still contesting the nomination.
@jaynordlinger For me, it was the 2016 Convention when it became clear that the GOP, from its "leadership" on down, had corrupted into a tactical personality cult. I held out some hope, but these 2024 primaries are proving that the rot is beyond repair. It's shameful.
@jaynordlinger About the same. Since '76. Soon as I got the chance to re-register in 2015
