A random internet guy (Douglass Mackey) created a meme. The DOJ prosecuted him for "election interference." He was just found guilty. He now faces 10 years in prison. Where did my country go?
Are the FBI agents who promoted the Russia hoax going to be prosecuted for election interference? Are the Big Tech companies going to be prosecuted for election interference for censoring the Hunter Biden story? Faith in the justice system is evaporating at horrifying rate.
@jason_howerton To be fair, it seems like he did quite a bit more than "creating a meme" It also seems that 5000 people were actually smart enough to vote via text message 😂😂😂
He did more than create a meme, but nice try. The jury of his peers (because that’s how we do it in this country) rejected Mackey’s cynical attempt to use the First Amendment free speech protections to shield himself from criminal liability for a voter suppression scheme. By Election Day in 2016, at least 4,900 unique telephone numbers texted “Hillary” or something similar to a text number that was spread by multiple deceptive campaign images tweeted by Mackey and co-conspirators. He literally stole votes in a scheme.
@jason_howerton @LisaMarieBoothe We are watching it collapse in real time Never thought it would unravel this quick Was a hell of a ride see you at the bottom
@jason_howerton You have a link bc I think it was a bit worse than that although I agree the higher ups need to be held accountable, more so even, not just fines either
@jason_howerton If this case was the litmus test, the entire top floors of the FBI, CIA, DOJ, and most of social and corporate media would be in prison.
