Over the next few days, I will be in the United States for meetings with U.S. officials, institutions, and industry leaders. A key priority is to present Croatia’s gas and oil transport infrastructure as a pillar of regional energy security. Croatia’s energy triad - gas, oil, and, hopefully soon, nuclear - is Western by choice and by strategy. And if the terms are right, we are open to making it even stronger American (talk about a partner country, right?). Others talk about “sovereignty” while remaining dependent on Russian sources across all three. We choose resilience, allies, and real security. P.S. I’ll tell you a big secret, oil compliant with EU sanctions and OFAC regulations is CURRENTLY FLOWING through the Adria Pipeline and probably already reached our friends and allies in Hungary and Slovakia. Our infrastructure delivers and can continue to do so (@EU_Commission see the math part).

Long before today’s political stands, your own countrymen understood the value of an Adriatic alternative as a way out of the Russian trap. That long-standing Hungarian idea is finally meeting reality. The Adriatic pipeline is reliable, safe, cost-competitive, and it has the capacity to meet the needs of our friends in Hungary and Slovakia. It helps Europe step away from Russian energy pressure. That is what it was built for. That is what it remains. Croatia is ready to act responsibly and constructively - fully within EU and OFAC regulations - to protect supply security. The alternative exists, dependence is no longer fate. Don’t let it become your choice. P.S.
