I’ve been thinking about removing my music from all streaming services lately & making my it only available on @Bandcamp, iTunes (for downloading), and selling CD’s & maybe vinyl. It’s a tough decision to make, but I still can’t get comfortable with the current system
@jaleelshaw @Bandcamp That'd make your music inaccessible for people without expendable income
@jaleelshaw @Bandcamp Rahsaan Roland Kirk had a term for our participation in our own exploitation: Volunteered Slavery
@jaleelshaw @Bandcamp At the Bluenote with Billy Hart to Catch Aziza and he and DH talked you up a lot! Would love to produce your 🎶4 BC. Check my label and DM ☮️ resonantartists.bandcamp.com
@jaleelshaw @Bandcamp Spotify is organized crime.
@jaleelshaw @Bandcamp I suggest that you give away *some* selected bits so that it's easier to find your work. But, I think, that you're right about restricting access to much of what you do. (I used to teach a course on this at USC, but I moved and that was that...)
@jaleelshaw @Bandcamp ITunes and Amazon too? I buy my music there instead of streaming it.
@jaleelshaw @Bandcamp Heavy lifting. Keep it movin’. 🙏🏽👊🏽🥊🎷📶❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🎵🎶
@jaleelshaw @Bandcamp I think that if more artists did this, more fans would get the idea that everything is NOT streaming. On Bandcamp less fans can equal more $. Maybe it’s time to investigate quality over quantity (of fans & listeners). There are no guarantees other than the current ish is broken.
@jaleelshaw @Bandcamp Bandcamp is still my favorite by far (other than going to Amoeba in person). I found your albums there and sounds great.
