Today feels like a good day to remember that people in the Red Sox organization thought they could get Will Smith from the Dodgers for Mookie Betts at the 2019 trade deadline. Instead Dave Dombrowski turtled and left the next guy to clean up the mess.
@jaketodonnell Not trading Mookie at the deadline was the right move and not trading Mookie in the off-season would have also been the right move. When you have a generational player you pay him. Not use him to offload a bad contract imo
@jaketodonnell Also, Dombrowski was holding out hope in getting the organization to re-sign him. Which was hard due to Betts hating it here. He would have gotten more back for him, instead of Jeter Downs. Who their own scouts said couldn’t play, just like French Cordero.
@jaketodonnell How dare you say dealin Dave even made one mistake
@jaketodonnell Don't like Dave's time w/the Sox,? Then you'll hate his draftees: Casas, Bello, Durran, Crawford, Houck, and 2017 arrival Rafaela.
