No shade to you this is just me displaying this publicly because people keep using that argument and it holds zero water. And in addition, he has had substantial high level influence and oversight. Credited as producer with Safran and he provided studio level notes, guidelines etc as well. I think a lot of people don’t understand the process and his involvement because he doesn’t need to be director or writer to insert himself. We know he was still in charge considering he literally handpicked the cast himself. He legit championed the project before he and Peter Safran officially took over DC Studios. He even openly loved Woman of Tomorrow comic, called Safran about it during early discussions, and pushed for it as a key DCU film. So yeah he wasn’t just going to let anyone man the ship without him.

I'm seeing an overabundance of "HE'S A SLOT 2 CHARACTER DUH!!!!!! HE NEEDS TO BE IN SLOT 2" Beast is a counter character, his only real value to the team is damage, he has limited defense, and almost no support that matters, most of the time a majority of the attacks will be piled in slot 1. So inherently LR Beast Gohan is a failure by being unable to tank in slot 1 aka where all the attacks are the majority of the time. So his greatest value is usually nerfed besides the active turn. It's not like this kid is touching down on the team and dropping monster support all over like Gohan's father Metal Cooler does. Gohan literally only provides damage, and half the time he will fail at that since he can't safely be placed where the enemy attacks are.
