If you're in the middle of a job search right now, I see you. The silence. The interviews that went nowhere. The rejections with no reason.
It's a grind. Keep showing up.
You've got this. 💪

Open connections: ss -tulnp

If you can't explain why a service is running, that's your homework.

The mouse is slowing you down and you don't notice anymore:
Win/Cmd + L: lock screen
Alt + Tab: stop touching the taskbar
Ctrl + Shift + T: reopen that closed tab
Ctrl + Z / Y: undo and redo everything
Pick two. Practice for a week. You won't go back.

Here’s the sad truth about tech hiring: So much focus is put on the job history and not enough on the soft skills. Learning a new tech stack is EASY! Learning how to communicate, use time wisely, being a good employee…that isn’t (really) teachable. #opentowork#tech
Alas, my contract is coming to a close in just a few weeks. Getting to work with an #opensource community as my day job and to continue as a #linux product marketer has been amazing.
However, all good things, you know? That said, I am once again #opentowork#devrel
Our friends over at the #RESF are putting together a test day for secure boot! Check it out:
CALL FOR TESTING: The new boot shim in Rocky 9.8 and 10.2 is signed with multiple certificates to handle changes in Secure Boot. This must be tested on a variety of physical hardware to
Trying to decide how to ruin my productivity this weekend. Do I jump back into Elder Scrolls Online or finally take the plunge on Final Fantasy XIV? I've played #ESO before and loved it. #FFXIV keeps coming up in conversations but it's a big commitment.

Lock down user accounts on Linux before something else does.
List failed login attempts: lastb
Lock a user account: usermod -L username
Force a password change at next login: chage -d 0 username
Your servers are likely being probed right now.

Multitasking is just doing several things poorly at the same time.
Single-tasking is uncomfortable at first because it forces you to sit with one hard thing instead of bouncing between easier ones. One tab. One task.
Try it for a morning, see what happens.

Day 2 of Open Source Summit and I'm still running on no sleep but good conversations!
One of my favorite things about events like this is the hallway track. If you're here today come find me. I'd love to connect in person.

Fired up #StarCraftII for the first time in years this week! Still incredible!
Sometimes the best thing you can do for your brain is step away from the terminal and go defend a base from a Zerg rush.
What's your go-to game when you need to decompress?

When the network is broken and you need answers fast:
Trace the route: traceroute google.com
Check open ports: ss -tuln
Test DNS: dig google.com
The network isn't down. Something specific broke. These tell you what.

Stop burying decisions in email threads.
Move the conversation to a threaded discussion instead! Slack, Teams, whatever you use: where context stays attached, replies are organized, and nobody has to scroll through a reply-all chain to find the answer.
