This shipping container-turned-swimming pool cost $85,000 all-in. It already paid for itself in only 9 mo (and adds to our “moat” of amenities). Here’s the breakdown and exactly how👇🏻
Ordered it from modpools .com (non-sponsored). It took about 2 months to make and deliver. In the meantime we poured the simple concrete slab. The pool showed up on a truck and trailer. Rented a large forklift for the day and unloaded it myself.
With a little finagling, we fairly easily got it set into place on the concrete. It doesn’t need to be bolted down because it weights ~10,000 lb. Not going anywhere😊
Then, simple as putting in a hose. Took a day to fill. We connected the electrical in the meantime. It is outfitted with filters, a pump and everything needed to run. We built a deck around 2 sides of it with a nice, minimalistic cable railing.
Make sure to account for maintenance. Requires about 1 hr/week, straining leaves, cleaning filter, etc. And liability insurance: added $1,000 to our policy annually. Very reasonable imo.
And there you have it! Pool cost $58,000 Concrete $5,000 Electrical $2,500 Deck w/railing $17,700 Pool furniture, signage, etc $2,000 Total cost = $85,200 I raised rates $45 across all 7 listings (with no slow down in bookings). $45*7 = $315 85,200/315 = 271 nights (9 mo)
