The new Rolling Stones album is the best thing that’s happened to the world in the last 40 years… but there’s one twist. The best song on this incredible album isn’t actually on the standard album. Go to iTunes and search for “Bad Luck Hideaway.” Trust me. Don’t get me wrong—all 14 tracks on FOREIGN TONGUES are truly special. The album is a masterpiece, an incredible achievement for the band, and a huge gift to the fans. But ever since I discovered “Bad Luck Hideaway,” I can’t stop listening to it. It’s classic Stones, featuring a very special duet between Mick and Keith, with Charlie Watts on drums from the 2015 London sessions. This song deserves a physical release, and I really hope it gets one in the future. Have an amazing Rolling Stones Day! Surprise, beautiful news! 🎉 Did you think 14 new Stones tracks was the best news imaginable? Apparently, we’re getting 15 new Rolling Stones songs tomorrow, with “Bad Luck Hideaway” appearing as a bonus track on Apple Music in some regions. “Bad Luck Hideaway” was one of several new songs the Stones began working on in December 2015. More than 10 years ago, the band were at British Grove Studios recording what would become their Grammy Award-winning album, “Blue & Lonesome”. Another song from those sessions was “Driving Me Too Hard,” which later appeared on “Hackney Diamonds” after being re-recorded from scratch for that album. It will be interesting to see whether “Bad Luck Hideaway” features Charlie Watts on drums or whether it’s one of the songs that was re-recorded at Metropolis Studios for Foreign Tongues. Just finished Iggy Pop: Open Up and Bleed tonight. It was a really good book. I thought the author did a good job balancing the personal story and the music.
I absolutely deplore local yokel bands that play way to long. Just play a tight thirty minute set then get off the damn stage.
I’m hoping he puts out multiple albums in the upcoming weeks.
The great Johnny Punish has been really prolific in the past few weeks. There’s plenty of great songs on his YouTube channel and Soundcloud. There’s a great protest song about Jerry Seinfeld. Also a great article written about Jerry on Johnny’s page. Just a talented guy
