The United States is based on Zoroastrian pluralism and one of the most troubling issues today in the States is the narrowing of politics into an ultimatum that neither side is happy with. Islam actually made a place for pluralism in their acceptance of "People of the Book" (Al ahl-Kitab) which you purposely identify the source of your ideology to your Government. Guilds within modern #Guildsocialism don't have to be large entities in that a Guild at it's smallest can be just 3 people. You also need not be a well versed Independent craftsperson (though preferable) you can simply be a barista in a coffeeshop with two other friends working their own gigs to pool your wealth with your comrades by taxing a % of your income for your Collective.

@Amtrak it is wrongly assumed that if the US were to update to maglev trains that the entirety of Amtrak would have to do so. An East Coast instance that would be to everyone's benefit would be from NYC, to Philadelphia, to D.C., coastal maglev lines make great sense for the US.
