Ron DeSantis’ Florida: “Many of their neighbors weren’t insured at all because rates were too high.” news4jax.com/news/local/202…
@iamsharpe Then don’t live on the water in Florida. Insurance is based on actuarial tables. Florida is risky, you pay the price.
This problem existed decades before DeSantis who has steadily worked to help Floridians. Now there are 2 New Insurance Companies in Florida, with a 3rd one coming in shortly and also 2 more entering the Florida Market shortly. This is all due to the Legislation passed last year.
@iamsharpe I have insurance as did my HOA and many of my neighbors. None of us has received much help from our insurance companies and I am currently out $50K for repairs due to Ian. Insurance is worthless in Florida.
That's "Biden's America" - massive inflation and exploding home values fuel insurance rises. DeSantis has ALREADY done A LOT about this; encouraging new insurers to come in, cracking down on fraud and capping premium increases (which were higher because they're tied to inflation. Nice try though.
@iamsharpe @nesutherland_ And that is somehow DeSantis fault?
@iamsharpe Where is the Governor? Oh yeah he is at the Iowa football game. But I’m sure they won’t blame him for it.
@iamsharpe The people who live in this region don't strike me as the type to take federal assistance through FEMA, which would make them socialists, so why are they even mentioning FEMA. Hypocrites.
@iamsharpe My neighbor wasn’t.. and the neighbors trees went through his roof… we paid in taxes FEMA to reroof at $28k..the trees were reported nuisance trees.. the owners did nothing.high insurance and the govt pays for the damage(Ronald that’s federal)
