New TikTok video: I wish I was taught this way of finding the GCF when I was in school
@howie_hua Hi Howie. This is a super method, but how does it work with (for example) 18 and 90? 90 = 18 (5) + 0 The GCF here is 9 but I can't see how that fits with this one! Can you help as I'd love to give this to my class to explore.
@howie_hua Very timely. Teaching this concept to my pre-service teachers next week.
@howie_hua Great communication. Concepts and process enunciated clearly. Perhaps, relax, and slow down a bit, remember you’re dealing minds that are normally not amiable to mathematical solution-structure. Nice job.
@howie_hua Love this! So good for developing conceptual understanding of what is really going on.👌 So much misunderstanding is created by mindlessly repeating algorithms and processes without having any understanding of what is really happening.
@howie_hua @PROMYS_Teachers some of us teachers might enjoy exploring this manipulative/ visual representation of the Euclidean algorithm.
