breaking news🚨 a bbc investigation led by journalist @bbcmarcosilva, has uncovered a coordinated network of fake social media accounts in uganda targeting me due to our #stopeacop campaigns mainly on x. @gcicuganda and the regime are pointed out as the puppet master behind these fake accounts; manipulating public opinion, sending death threats, trolling, and pushing back against us critics at home and abroad. campaigning against the east african crude oil pipeline should not be a crime and we shall not be gagged. eacop is a carbon bomb that threatens our environment, health, and rights. uganda is too vulnerable to adverse impacts of climate change to bear the 379 million metric tons of climate pollution that will be emitted from this pipeline in its lifetime if not stopped now. how i wish climate deniers could understand that climate change is a public good problem that affects all of us. let's collectively decarbonize as our responsibility to keep temperatures at the limit of 1.5°C so that we don’t exacerbate global warming. Investing in renewables is the solution and uganda has the potential to lead the green energy transition for energy security. to @totalenergiesug @PPouyanne @philippegroueix @pau_uganda @elisonk @mkarekye @masyus11 @memd_uganda @nankabirwars @cnoocugandaLtd @lilian_nyakuni @unoc_ug @parliament_ug, we demand a complete phase-out of fossil fuels. we cannot drill at the mercy of our health and environment. special thanks to marco and your entire @bbcnews team for bringing these investigation findings to light. I hope x and meta suspend all these fake accounts spreading propaganda and misinformation while targeting us who are selflessly fighting for climate justice and environmental justice for a better uganda, africa, and the world at large. link to the full bbc documentary: bbc.co.uk/programmes/w3c… #crudefakesinuganda
#stopeacop i can't believe the government is wasting taxpayers' money and time on hiring people to run fake accounts, trolling me and trying to silence my campaign against the dangerous east african crude oil pipeline they want to force into our backyards! the good news is that over 26 major banks and 28 insurers are heeding our call not to invest in this oil project. we must halt this project, and nothing will silence us. let's prioritize protecting people over the corporate greed of companies like @totalenergies and @cnoocugandaltd, who are climate criminals seeking to turn uganda into a fossil fuel dumping site, akin to what shell did to the niger delta in nigeria. stopeacop.net/our-news/leadi…
