Impromptu next stop - Reina Cakes. She shared w/ us how she started small in Humboldt Park selling her artistic creations. People noticed her PASSION so they came together by pitching in 8,000 to help her get her dream started! The sense of family is just amazing. #SequoitPride
Next stop #MercadoDelPueblo mission is to support small business for the PR community. Here the artesanías starts just one table + eventually grows into it’s own business - all while maintaining pride and celebrating PR roots. Great convo w/ the coordinators! #SequoitPride
Next stop: Janellie’s Kitchen on Division. We had a LOT of food for the students. Alcapurría, arroz con gandules, tostones, empanadillas, pernil + pollo asado! Janellie shared w/ us how she started her business during COVID + was quickly able to grow the restaurant. #SequoitPride
