@dippydodar @KirstieMAllsopp There are economies of scale at play and cheaper to deliver rubbish collection etc in higher density areas. Also, if locals have voted in councils who run efficiently and pass on savings to residents in the form of lower council tax, why should they have to bail out others?

@ekroth the key lies in Canatu's protected 'dry deposition' production technique for CNT. Mitsui is using more common 'wet deposition', which results in a less porous CNT. Thus for the most high end applications (like pellicles) the performance and ROI of a CAnatu CNT pellicle is better

@DPJHodges Stamp duty means people owning pretty ordinary houses in Wandsworth can't afford to move even with more children. Lots of aspirational hard workers with London jobs who seen net pay hit by tax rises. Only Tories offering anything to tackle this - so no surprise really.

I joked with my kids that I would get two weevils tattooed on my ankle. One big one, small. I now have a deal with them that if I can reach 10,000 followers, with r/ts and follows from people who get the joke, I will get the tattoo. I will also have found my x people. @arthistorynews @GeorgeTrefgarne It’s not odd, because the salary of an MP is 90k and a minister is on 166k. This is too low relative to the earnings power of senior tranches of many industries. So there aren’t enough talented people in politics. We should have less MPs and make them some of the best paid people

Time for my annual tweet! Got a bit unlucky with my reading this year and stuck in some ruts. But a few gems, loved Wolfpack by @Roger_Moorhouse and Kingmaker by @soniapurnell . Most fiction I read was average, rescued by Olivia Manning Balkan trilogy and a Patrick O’Brien. 1/2
