Racist Hobson's Pledge are now in our Government after taking over an ageing Winston and boosting a failing NZ First. It'll seem like a long 3 years for many but for Māori New Zealanders: it's 3 years in 186 years of defending te reo and tino rangatiratanga.
@2TAPU Is that why there is the greatest representation of Maori in government ever? Or specific Maori seats? 80% of the leaders of our political party’s are Maori? Or Maori affairs ministry? Get a grip!!
@gareth_baker Here's a gripping lesson for you: The ethnicity of an MP is not the same as their government's policies. Someone can be from the same ethnicity as people they seek to oppress. 😘
@2TAPU I'm sure you've got all angles covered. Here is a lesson for you; you represent about 0.2% of the population. Stop talking Maori down! They are our brothers, sisters, husbands and wifes of all New Zealanders.. You won't divide us.
@gareth_baker The Māori community I live in will continue to fight for their reo and their rights in spite of this or any other government. They're kinda good at it. Lots of practice 😉
@2TAPU It's taught in Schools, the prime minister is learning it, most of us know general terms, and signs will be bilingual. I don't get the rage? I have no Maori blood but I consider the culture mine too by being a New Zealander. I think that is broadly felt across the country
@gareth_baker Everything we have was fought for over many years so removing gains because a minority coalition partner hates te reo (I'm talking Hobsons Pledge here) is a warning sign. ⚠️ 8/10 see te reo as part of their ID as a NZer, like you 👏 storiesoftereo.nz
@2TAPU I think you'll be surprised. I voted for this government and Te Reo isn't going anywhere...
