That drug, Tranexamic acid can help reduce deaths from bleeding when it is given early after PPH starts. So if a facility is providing emergency obstetric care, TXA should not be something they start looking for when the emergency has started. It should be there. As a man, if your wife is preparing to give birth, ask if the facility has TXA available. Same thing if you’re pregnant and preparing for delivery. Ask questions. Know what is available. This is what happens when you sit for too long!

Years back, my wife would call me names because I was unable to provide enough for the family. I understood her pain then, because I knew things were not easy for her too. But heaven knows that I was trying my best. She was a teacher then, in one of the schools close to our house. Because of that, she had the privilege of making sure our children were not out of school. But she always complained that almost all her salary was being used for the children's school fees, and she was only being paid peanuts. Because of that frustration, whenever she thought about it, she would fly up and start saying a lot of things to me. One thing I won't forget is that whenever she came home and met me at home, she would say, "Even if you're not going to work, you can go out and look for something to do." Then I would tell her that I'm not the type that goes around the street because I hardly have friends, I don't drink, and I don't do all those things. So if I have nothing to do outside, I see no reason to just go out. She would talk to me, and sometimes I would start crying like a baby. 🤣 But I would still console her and tell her that I might still be the one to pay our children's school fees from secondary school all the way to the university level. I even made a strong confession that I might still send them to private universities because they are all girls, and I know how government universities can sometimes slow down a child's journey. The funny part is that during all those years, I didn't have anything to show for those words. I was just depending on God and believing that somehow, things would change. And today, the story has completely changed. The two children are now in private universities, while the others are in private secondary schools. I'm now the breadwinner, and my wife praises me almost every day. She now sees me as her small God. 😂 Let me burst your brain again. You remember I told you she used to tell me to go out, even when I had nothing to do outside? Today, the story has changed. Now, whenever I'm going out for my daily bread like this, she will frown as if I shouldn't go anywhere. You will hear her saying, "I don't want anybody to snatch my husband ooo." 😂 And today, she's a full time housewife, with daily money that is more than the monthly salary she was earning when she was teaching. 🤣 This is why I always tell people that you should be careful about judging a marriage by one difficult season or what your spouse say to you. There are seasons when things will be extremely hard. There are seasons when two people who genuinely love each other may say things they don't mean because of frustration, pressure, and lack of money. But that doesn't make the words right, but it also doesn't necessarily mean the marriage is finished. Sometimes, what a family needs is time, patience, understanding, prayer, and two people who are willing to keep fighting for the family even when things are not working yet. I look back today and realise that if we had both allowed those difficult years to define our marriage, we might not be enjoying what we have today. So marriage can be tough at the beginning, but that doesn't mean it will end like that. You young men should learn from this and don't be too quick to conclude that your marriage won't work out simply because things are hard today. Some seasons are only preparing you for the testimony you will eventually tell tomorrow. Something to think about.

If you are already earning money, start reading financial books and anchor at least 10% of everything you earn to your future self. When your salary enters, pay your future self before you start spending. If you earn ₦100,000, invest ₦10,000. If you earn ₦300,000, invest ₦30,000. If you earn ₦500,000, invest ₦50,000. If your income increases, your investment should increase with it. Don’t wait to see what remains at the end of the month before you invest because, most times, nothing will remain. Automate the habit in your head: I earn → I pay my future self → I live on the rest. Read financial books. Learn how money works. Understand stocks, dividends, compounding, risk and how businesses create wealth. That 10% may look insignificant today, but you are building a habit that could follow you for the next 20, 30 or 40 years.
