You should be able to own a home, a car, raise a family, have health coverage, get benefits and have a pathway to retirement, if you’re working 40 hours a week. If you disagree, what the hell is wrong with you? Seriously.
Well ... The problem is people keep electing politicians that spend more than the country has. That leads to inflation. Inflation can ONLY come from government. Maybe if you feel that way you and others should vote to reduce the size and spend of government. Otherwise what you might be suggesting is more minimum wage laws and government subsidies that will result in higher inflation over time resulting in a never ending loop of unaffordability and poverty. Productivity is the driver of value. Drive more productivity through your votes.
@funder We used to have that in this country before politicians & worthless consultants ruined it.
@funder 40 hours a week flipping burgers or working at Walmart or some hotel is not the same as 40 hours a week on a rooftop .. or paving streets .. or building those houses or cars ..
@funder Everyone working full time should have access to shelter and transportation but not necessarily home or car ownership. Sharing rent and taking public transportation are great options. I'd hate for the public to have to subsidize a $2M condo for everyone in NYC.
@funder I don’t think anyone disagrees with this - on either side.
@funder It should be able to be done living on one paycheck as well.
@funder Im working 40 hours in Texas but Red States are not fair to make $20.00 an hour the minimum pay , only blue states!!
