Before I left Colorado, I received a doctor’s bill for a visit that my ins didn't fully cover. Of course, I paid the bill. In the same week, I saw a local news story where an illegal immigrant took her son to a Denver hospital and the reporter asked “How did you pay?” she said, “It was no charge.” Sorry, this is fcked up! If you don't think illegals affect your quality of life—you're an idiot!
@ATLGOP There was a charge, it was just offset from your premiums and benefits. Insurance companies never lose money.
@fortuanteson @ATLGOP The illegal had no insurance. The government paid for it and by extension we paid for it. Nothing to do with insurance. At least an insurance company would have negotiated the bill. The government will just pay, no questions asked
@fortuanteson @ATLGOP How does what a hospital eventually writes off due to a patient that can't pay affect his insurance premiums and/or benefits? His insurance has nothing to do with that.
@fortuanteson @ATLGOP The American taxpayer is footing the bill for these illegal aliens explain to me how that is appropriate no matter how you look at it. They didn’t come here legally and they should be flown back to wherever they came from.
@fortuanteson @ATLGOP Hmm. Maybe they charge it to the govt agency that will cover it. Just sayin’
@fortuanteson @ATLGOP The hospital eats the bill. Insurance doesn’t pay. Illegal’s don’t have insurance. Unless they are on Medicaid.
