McDonald's manager by day. Building fold by night. One app to replace the 6 your team is drowning in.foldtask.appJoined January 2026
Shipped a command palette for Fold this week. ⌘K and everything's searchable. Tasks, notes, docs, chat, calendar, files, AI conversations. One shortcut, done.
Built it for mobile too because half my team doesn't sit at a desk.
Also shipped custom dock tabs. Pin the tools your team actually uses, reorder them, set it by role. Free plan gets one, Pro gets five.
Next up: automations, recurring tasks, calendar sync.

I manage a McDonald's using six different apps. Tasks in one, chat in another, files somewhere else, approvals in a fourth. Half the job is remembering which app has the thing you need. So I'm building Fold.
We just redesigned Fold from scratch.
The old version worked, but it felt busy. Too many colours, too much competing for your attention. So we stripped it back. Light background, white cards, lots of space to breathe.
The sign-in panel sits right on the landing page now. No "book a demo" wall, no sales funnel before you even see the product. Just land and start working.
The headline we landed on: "One calm place for tasks, chat and files."
Calm is the word we kept coming back to. Most team tools feel like they're shouting at you. We wanted Fold to feel like opening a clean notebook.
Still building this after McDonald's shifts. Still a long way to go. But the redesign feels like the first version that actually looks like the product we had in our heads.
Every shift someone asks "which app is that in?"
Six apps for tasks, files, rotas, training, feedback, quality checks. Nobody remembers which one does what. Managers become tech support instead of actually managing.
It's chaos disguised as process.
Welcome to Fold.
The operations command centre for modern teams.
Tasks. Chat. Notes. AI. Docs. Dashboards. All in one workspace.
Building in public and shipping fast. Follow the journey.

One Workspace. Everything Connected.
I manage a McDonald's. I also build software after my shifts.
This is Fold running inside my actual store. The workspace is called "Wickford 2347" because that's my store number.
Screenshot 1: My personal dashboard. Real tasks like "Fix uniform ordering" and "Store MFA" next to quick actions. Everything I need to do today, one place.
Screenshot 2: Team calendar. Who's at a festival, who's interviewing, all colour coded. No more texting the group chat "who's in tomorrow?"
Screenshot 3: The one I'm most proud of. An AI command centre that tells me team health is at 45%, flags that my workload is the heaviest, and recommends "check in with Callum." It caught what I'd normally miss.
None of this is a mockup. That's real data from my real store.
I got tired of running my team across 6 different apps so I built one that does it all.
Your team's group chat is not a task manager.
Every "can you do this" that scrolls past three messages is a task with no owner, no deadline, and no proof it was ever done.
You just lost it.
I manage a McDonald's. Half my team doesn't even have a laptop.
Every workspace app assumes you're sat at a desk with Slack open and a calendar in front of you. That's not how real operations work.
Real teams are on their feet. They're running shifts, handling customers, checking stock, doing quality walks. They need tasks, chat, and files in one place they can actually reach from their phone between rushes.
That's what Fold is. Built for businesses that operate in real time and real life, not from a desk.
10pm. Just got home from a close shift. Laptop's open before the jacket's even off. Some days Fold gets my best hours. Most days it gets whatever's left. Building anyway.
Half my team doesn't even have a laptop. They run their whole shift from their phone.
That's why I just shipped PWA support for Fold. Install it on your home screen like a native app.
Built this one for the real workers.
Just got home from a close shift and the laptop's already open.
Some nights I ship a whole feature. Some nights I stare at the screen for 20 mins then close the laptop.
Both count.
Anyone else building something after their day job?
