Most people see data collection as a centralized workflow. With Poseidon, it happens via Subnetworks. ˗ˏˋ Example ´ˎ˗ → Audio Transcription Subnetwork Contributors upload real voice samples. Validators check for duplication, AI generation, and accuracy. Once verified, the dataset is registered as IP on @StoryProtocol and licensed to AI companies as training data. Decentralized pipelines for real-world data with provenance and validation baked in.
Most data acquisition today is locked inside private deals, closed platforms, and siloed infra. Poseidon creates a public coordination layer open to contributors, model builders, researchers, and data owners. Every dataset on Poseidon: ▸ Has verifiable provenance and metadata ▸ Is rights-cleared on @StoryProtocol ▸ Can be searched, licensed, and composed programmatically This allows anyone to contribute across the full lifecycle of AI training data. The result? An open marketplace for creating and curating high-quality, real-world datasets for the next generation of physical AI.
Subnets: Why AI data infra has to fragment to scale ↓ You can’t run healthcare data pipelines and robotics pipelines on the same infra. Medical data requires TEEs, pseudonymization, and audit logs. Robotics needs high-bandwidth video streaming, fast annotation, and edge-case sampling. Poseidon introduces Subnets: sharded infrastructure tailored to the incompatibilities between AI domains. Each Subnet runs its own data pipelines, validators, and economic layer while still syncing to a shared base layer for rights-clearing on @StoryProtocol. This architecture reflects reality: the physical world is messy, diverse, and domain-specific. The infrastructure that feeds AI models needs to be as well.
