When people argue 'following the science' is getting infected to attain 'hybrid immunity' what they don't tell you is the cognitive impairment you are trading for a fleeting antibody response.

@fitterhappierAJ EVERYBODY has had Covid. If you don't think you ever had it, you just had an asymptomatic case. The number of people in the US who have actually escaped covid infection is so small, it is statistically insignificant. Your vaccination status makes no difference.
@fitterhappierAJ @DrMaireadDB You have been a rare voice of clarity, reason and scientific accuracy from the get-go. But surely we (they) should all have known or suspected this from our knowledge and experience of all other coronaviruses!? I don't recall any herd immunity to the common cold...
@fitterhappierAJ And the subsequent development of numerous age related diseases that's have nothing to do with your age
@fitterhappierAJ What "hybrid immunity"? A previous infection 1 year earlier only offered 2% protection from JN.1 2 percent.
@fitterhappierAJ Thinking that actively encouraging the idea of getting sick to avoid.. uhm.. getting sick... is a good society-wide strategy almost proves the brain injury theories amongst those that encourage it. Sort of like pregnancy to avoid getting pregnant?
@fitterhappierAJ I can feel it in my arm. Every time I get sick, that arm gets all weird and tired. It's more reliable than covid tests. When I first got sick, I woke up, and my hands felt like they were different sizes. I also remember tasting spicey metal when I ate strawberries for a while.
@fitterhappierAJ This is exactly the problem, and hits the crux of the public health messaging failure - for many of us who are “young and healthy”, the risks associated with the virus *might* be worth taking IF WE WERE THEN IMMUNE on the other side of it. That isn’t what’s happening.
@fitterhappierAJ 7 years of brain damage for 6 to 12 months antibody response is quite fair for a lot of minimizers who are getting a fantastic deal. They're not trading away a lot of brain.
