Before I go off the deep end, is your facility sharing a single meter-dose inhaler between patients, with each patient having their own spacer? No one puts their mouth on the inhaler … spacers stay with each individual pt throughout their stay. #NurseTwitter #PharmTwitter
I jumped the gun … the same inhaler for one pt for their entire hospital stay, then the inhaler gets sent for cleaning, then re-issues to another pt. Not sharing the same inhaler for an entire floor during a single shift or anything … just “reprocessing” between pts.

@ffmichelle Nope. We used to wash used albuterol inhalers with doses remaining. Did that for about a year until upper leadership realized (with a looming JHACO visit) that was gross and didn't really save that much money.
