Listen. People that are child free are not obligated to work a non-equitable number of holidays that are perceived to be family-centric. *I* will likely offer to work them, but I am under no obligation to do so because I chose to not procreate. Don’t expect it. 😡
@ffmichelle Ah, you just reminded me to check my Christmas PTO request that I submitted months ago. I’ve worked 90% holidays this year (including upcoming Thanksgiving), I’ve never missed a Christmas w/ my 78 yr old Mom, and my boss resigned & is leaving next week…. Thanks for the reminder!
@ffmichelle Gosh. You're right but I do wonder how you'd feel in your sunset years if some of those same kids said they're not obligated to look after and care for you because you chose not to procreate? Who do you think will be the doctors, nurses & support in the future? Robots?
@ffmichelle Just don’t call yourself a feminist if you don’t actually support women and families. And yea self righteous tweeting doesn’t support women
@ffmichelle When I was single I was eager to do deals over perceived family centric holidays. Just did stuff outside peak periods - cheaper & no crowds. Was ruthless in enforcement of my terms. You only ever got 1 chance to screw me.
@ffmichelle I've covered for colleagues and industry peers whenever I could, for various reasons, including holidays. I did it because I wanted to,not because I had to. In turn, they have helped me out when I needed it, without issues. Mutual respect, goes a long way.
