Rishi Sunak, "If it was up to him (former director of public prosecutions) those criminals would still be on the street.. And the truth is, if he wasn't the Labour leader, he'd still want to be their lawyer" #PMQs Keir Starmer, "I've prosecuted more people smugglers than he's had helicopter rides, and that's a lot" "The Rwanda gimmick is going to cost the tax payer £2 million for every one of the 300 people they deport. I know the Prime Minister likes to spent a lot on jetsetting, but that some plane ticket"
@implausibleblog Seriously what is the point of PMQs? I used to think it was a serious feature of parliament, but it's a joke in poor taste, Sunak doesn't answer questions put to him, the speaker doesn't have any power and the jeering from the backbenchers is childish.. waste of time.
@farky1210 @implausibleblog A complete waste of time.
@farky1210 @implausibleblog I don’t watch it as much anymore it’s just annoying. Watch Parliament TV and select committees they are more grown up compared to the none answers at PMQs
@farky1210 @implausibleblog Another remnant of English “constitutional” tradition. Not fit for 20thC let alone 21st. But I doubt Unionist MPs will ever change it. They love the outdated and time-consuming pomp and ceremony so they can dress up and look superior! Scotland can do so much better.
@farky1210 @implausibleblog It says a lot about the PM, and for that fact alone I think QT is worth it. It’s certainly shown up the current and recent PMs for what they are.
@farky1210 @implausibleblog The whole farce needs restructuring. The Speaker needs more authority to manage it, and the PM should be compelled to answer the questions put to them, either verbally on the day, or else in writing at least two working days before the next PMQ session.
@farky1210 @implausibleblog I totally agree. Don’t watch it any more. Since it began it has been the same.
@farky1210 @implausibleblog Maybe if they spent their time trying to help the taxpayers and law abiding citizens instead of Eton schoolboy sledging - to be an MP these days you just have to lie have no conscience never answer a question and talk utter bollox - I’d give it a go for £90k and £200k expenses!!
@farky1210 @implausibleblog The fact that Sunak doesn’t/can’t answer is itself an answer of sorts. PMQs are it but farcical but they do draw attention to holes in the Govt’s case which would otherwise be more easily concealed. My view, anyway.
@farky1210 @implausibleblog It has always been nothing but theatre .
@farky1210 @SW10etseq @implausibleblog They behave like the crisis actors of the conspiracy theorists.
