Boarded an @AmericanAir flight in Charlotte at 5:30pm. Ran to make the connection. We are still sitting at the gate without one explanation as to why. It is now 7:00pm.
Complete disregard for the consumer. After an hour an half, the pilot says “I hear that some people want an update. We are getting fuel. Thank you for your patience.”

@esglaude @AmericanAir Same thing happened to me in Dallas on @AmericanAir. Boarded, sat at the gate for over an hour. “Missing external part.” Deplaned. Changed gates. Changed gates back. Got on plane again. Finally took off. Home three hours late.
