At @ETHGlobal Lisbon, we received a lot of questions about our name and logo. One thing came up again and again: many people read it as 'bolos' instead of 'obolos' (or maybe they wanted cakes🍰).
We've made a small but important improvement to the logo to make the name clearer. What do you think?
obolos (ὀβολός/obol) was a small silver coin that carried deep symbolic meaning. It was the minimal unit of ownership that one would receive for their work. In Greek mythology, it was the coin placed with the dead to pay the ferryman, Charon, for passage.
That's why the humble obol is our symbol. Just as the obol was something you needed at the beginning, or the end, of your journey, owning your startup's equity and getting it right from day one matters.

The next stage is the excitingly ‘boring’ part: plugging real assets onchain. Glad to be part of it.
