Just a casual news article about how private insurance companies steal so much money that it’s about 5 times the value of all property crime in the U.S. combined according to FBI stats.
Take a moment to consider who benefits from daily news stories about shoplifting by poor people from corporate retailers (when low-level property crime is near historic lows) and who benefits from the public not feeling urgency about far greater crimes like this.
@equalityAlec @DrEricDing Why am I not surprised about insurance companies stealing money?
@equalityAlec You know what that reminds me of? How our Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg @PeteButtigieg opposes universal healthcare because he worries about the health insurance industry.
@equalityAlec @DrEricDing Tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if that number was double. But I wish something would be done about this
@equalityAlec @JoePharmer There has got to be a better way!
@equalityAlec I mean it’s in their name…
@equalityAlec @MeShockedAgain Just know that in the Republicans plans they have put out they want to “privatize” Medicare. That means only Advantage plans & they will end regular Medicare. The Republicans are all about making Ins Corp richer & the consumer to have less care at a higher cost
