Jesus Campos works for Brawner Builders, the crew that was working on the Key Bridge when it collapsed. He said via translators that he used to be on the bridge team but was recently switched to a different shift. “I could have been there like my coworkers.”
Campos said police came to the homes of his fellow crew members this morning who are missing. He said via a translator that he’s sad, devastated that his friends are involved. He doesn’t know where they are.
Campos said all of his missing coworkers are Hispanic men. They were responsible for replacing concrete on the Key Bridge. “It takes courage to work there and you have to be trained,” he said. “The situation is tough, and I hope God helps them get out alive.”
@emilyopilo Now it makes sense why one person refused medical treatment.
@emilyopilo is there a way of finding out if the workers or their families have insurance and if theres some sort of fund we could share around to support them?
