📢📢📢📢📢📢📢📢 Access is not a nice-to-have. Access is a need-to-have. Access is not a privilege. Access is a civil right. ♿️♿️♿️♿️♿️♿️ Say it with me now: Access is not a nice-to-have. Access is a need-to-have. Access is not a privilege. Access is a civil right.
@emily_ladau #Access isn’t a #SpecialNeed. #Access is a #HumanRight
@emily_ladau Its also AGAINST THE LAW to not have access
@emily_ladau "Access is a need-to-have" means, we are not ABLE to do the thing without it. So, no, it's not that I "don't want to go" to the movie without captions, it's that I CANNOT UNDERSTAND movies without captions and therefore CANNOT go without the captions.
@emily_ladau My brother was quadriplegic and as a kid whenever someplace or someone built a ramp in front (or often the back) of their place or moved a chair to make space at a table they acted like they were doing something heroic by doing the right thing or merely not breaking the law. Ugh!
@emily_ladau Love this (posted on my Facebook page The Pushy Lawyer). Seeing this all over New England. They can put electricity, HVAC in old structures...but a ramp, that’s an absurd idea, apparently!
