Ditto. I have setup my own multisigs for years and I bought one honestly out of sheer curiosity. It is well designed and a thoroughly thought out process. Gives you all the advantages of multisigs without any of the drawbacks. I must admit the fact that it is essentially a free assisted multisig with recovery and inheritance built in is mind blowing and helps adoption and self custody in the long run. Well done @jack and Block. Way to go!!

Bitkey’s solution (with the screen on the new model) gets you all the benefits of assisted multisig with none of the negatives of needing to secure seeds or descriptors. As well as an inheritance plan. For free. Forever. People don’t really get what a game changer this solution is. Yes it relies on Block. But it has an emergency kit like the rest of the assisted multisigs and has a more resilient recovery options. It is technically brilliant if you understand it. Look into it. Any recovery scenario you can think of they covered it better than Casa or Unchained.

Multisig.. with passphrases on all signers. It‘s belt and suspenders and covers you if you loose a seed or signer or both. You would have to lose most of your seeds and signers. It gives you resiliency and options if you are geographically distant at times. It’s not hard to execute or secure. People are lazy and afraid of change. The only thing to fear is fear itself. If you want the perfect lazy assisted multisig with a free inheritance plan that a 2year old could execute get a Bitkey. Specifically the new one with a screen. Seriously, the technical solution is extremely well thought out. It assumes you would loose any seed or be scammed. It assumes your are a forgetful dementia patient that loses everything the phone and the hardware signer and still recovers you in a way Casa and Unchained cannot without ever having access to your funds or visibility into your wallet . For free.. forever. Block has a stealth winner here most don’t truly understand the technical significance of how resilient and user friendly this Model is.

They like to burn money in bonfires. They like to waste their time on a futile endeavor. Leave them be.. to each his own. They are just an alt coin with no network effect or anywhere to purchase (read airdrops) with about a 1% chance of success. Let them have at it. They are having fun on their testnet with Blake3 or 2 or whatever and get too say they fired the miners.

I ordered a few items recently and i JUST made the cutoff one day before this post on the 20th for the large seedsigner and some QR cards (that i messed up got the 12 word by mistake).. i get now why you can’t change the order.. I also went ahead and ordered something else today. I will wait fingers crossed 🤞.. Go have a beer too.. u earbed it!! Thanks again for all your hard work supporting us plebs with cool products.

@sesi_the_man Sorry I ordered and just read this.. You make great products and I have been a customer for years. Is the 12 week wait only for SeedSigners or is it for everything in the store? Entropy cubed and hats and stuff are on included right?

@ChrisAlaimo6 @COLDCARDwallet The seed logic was unaffected on dice rolls seeds. Even on the older firmware. This has been confirmed multiple times.

It’s an excellent signer they just fuc@*d up on entropy generation. It cost them everything. Create seeds with dice rolls that feature has been cross checked by quite a few folks including hard core devs. Even Casa assisted multisig is still allowing their use once the firmware that cleared the entropy issue is updated. Don’t let the hate and FUD take away from an excellent signer especially the Q. They were otherwise well thought out and built devices with literally ONE bad line of code. Sad to see them die out over something so stupid.

Dice rolls means you trust none of the entropy generation on the device. To be fair @COLDCARDwallet has had this for some time and promoted its use. I followed the advice and it saved my bacon. Few other wallets do this offline like they do. I still use it and YES I trust it because I verified it!! I still love my coldcards. They are EXCELLENT!! The entropy issue was a one off and unlikely to ever happen again.

We trust Trezor but we also trusttd Coldcard with our entropy. They poisoned the entropy trust well so dice rolls it is. You know what would be really nice too? Pins to store the extraaaa loooooong passphrase wallets like Onekey and Ledger do for long complex passphrases that are hard to type and easy to get wrong on the device tbh. Or even better the seed vault feature cold card had alongside it. That is still a killer feature. It could store your passphrase enabled seed in the vault and presto. Passphrase Pin is still good enough though. @Trezor

@_t_o_o_r_a_j_ @BlockstreamJade You have to tuen on Bluetooth and use the phone app. Same problem here. Once setup they are pretty good.. i have the older one same issue using desktop on firmware updates.

Bitcoin will either be worth securing, or not. Tail emissions destroy Bitcoin’s value prematurely.

Then you would be on the shorter chain and be called the legacy chain. You would have coins in both chains so yeah it’s not really a problem unless the exchanges go with the longest chain and you could never cash out like the BIP110 miners are finding out. But probably some would take it.

True about BIP110 but it doesn’t disprove that the miners are actually in control and they all decided on the correct chain collectively. But had the baffoons done it correctly and gotten a longer run with some time and consensus it would have played out differently perhaps. We will never know but what we do know is nearly everyone did NOT want to fork off. Myself included. I went back to core on principle tbh. Most of us did.

So the 20 word seed phrases Trezor generates by default are actually 128 bits of entropy not 256 like 24 word BIP39 (but 128 bits is considered sufficient). The shamir backup has shards and you need two of three shards (or however many you setup with whatever quorum) to reconstitute the seed. The downside is only trezor and keystone pro hw devices support the 20 word backups to be restored. It is not BIP39 and cannot be restored on the vast majority of hardware devices.
