Just boarded an early morning flight wearing my @MIT gear. A seat mate looked at me and asked, “Basketball?” I said, “No. Engineering!” What about me prompted him to think I was playing or coaching basketball? 🤔
@educator2us @MIT You're wearing an athletic quarter-zip. What kind of engineering work do you do as Vice President for Equity and Inclusion?
Sincere question: You are literally wearing some form of sports gear. Not “engineering” swag. Is there any sport your seat mate could have guessed without you immediately jumping to accusations of racism? Is it possible the problem might be in your head, and not in your seat mate? Respectfully submitted.
@educator2us @MIT Karl Reid (@educator2us) celebrating (in his imagination) a long day of DEI and race baiting.
@educator2us @MIT Karl is a Divisive, Egotistical, Incompetent (DEI) professional victim.
@educator2us @MIT Because you are wearing something that looks very similar to a sports jacket. 🤡
@educator2us @MIT As the "Vice President of Inclusion," your title assumes that racism exists. That pretty much guarantees that you will see it everywhere. Your seat mate could have merely been looking for something to start a conversation. Had you followed up, you might have enjoyed a nice chat.
@educator2us @MIT I would have asked if you were a felon or had AIDS Much more likely than an engineer
@educator2us @MIT You are a black African, what’s the confusion about?
@educator2us @MIT MIT hires real fragile diversity hires.
@educator2us @MIT I was the one across the aisle who got everyone clapping after you put him in his place.
