Join me for a brand new workshop in Colorado: andersonranch.org/workshops/work…
"Developing Your Personal Project" will be an in-person workshop taking place at the magical Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Colorado.
Visual Riffs: Peek-a-boo | While looking through my archive of images, I came up with the idea of a visual riff based upon this concept – photographs in which the subject is obscured or is hiding. These carousels represent how a camera can elicit such different reactions.
The first exhibition of my ongoing personal project, American Sketches, was recently up at the American Center for Photographers in Wilson, North Carolina.
This long-term project aims to explore the fabric of the American South.
Thanks to the Center for exhibiting my work!

I photographed this story for the NYT back in 2021 and it's simply mind-blowing that the pollution by Chemours continues to this day.

Visual Riffs: Peek-a-boo
In England, the baby game of peek-a-boo was known by 1600. While looking through my archive, I came up with the idea of a visual riff based on photographs in which the subject is obscured or is hiding in some way.

Visual Riffs: Innocent
To be innocent reflects not just a pure mind shielded from the horrors of the world – it can also mean to be dealt an unfair hand in life, to be a civilian caught in the crossfire of a conflict, to be falsely accused & wrongfully convicted & imprisoned.
